Job Summary

We are hiring a Debate Curriculum Developer to design and deliver engaging debate education programmes for diverse student groups in MOE and International Schools, fostering critical thinking, argumentation, public speaking, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Design & Development

• Design comprehensive debate curricula for beginner to advanced learners, applying differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Develop structured lesson plans, teaching materials, assessment rubrics, training resources, and instructional guides aligned with educational goals.
• Create progressive learning pathways that enhance students’ skills in argument construction, rebuttal, critical analysis, public speaking, and global affairs.
• Integrate current affairs, policy issues, and interdisciplinary content to stimulate intellectual curiosity and informed citizenship.
• Train and upskill coaches to effectively deliver the curriculum.

Service Delivery

• Facilitate debate workshops, coaching sessions, and educator training programmes.
• Mentor students in competitive debating techniques, critical thinking, and communication strategies in school and private settings.
• Support curriculum implementation across schools and enrichment programmes.
• Provide individualized feedback and coaching to maximize student development and engagement.

Assessment & Educational Innovation

• Design and evaluate student assessment frameworks to measure learning outcomes and skill progression.
• Collect and analyze feedback from students, teachers, and parents to continuously improve curriculum effectiveness.
• Research emerging pedagogical practices and debate education methodologies to enhance programme quality.
• Develop innovative learning experiences combining debate, leadership development, and experiential learning.

Competition & Programme Management

• Support planning and execution of debate tournaments, workshops, and educational events.
• Develop competition preparation frameworks and training schedules for competitive teams.
• Collaborate with coaches, educators, and stakeholders to align curriculum objectives with programme outcomes.
• Maintain curriculum documentation and ensure consistent instructional standards across programmes.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Communications, or related fields.
• Experience designing educational curricula, training programmes, or instructional materials.
• Strong competitive debating or public speaking background.
• Demonstrated experience coaching or teaching students across various age groups and abilities.
• Excellent written communication and content development skills.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
