Community Manager

GEEKSTER PTE. LTD.

About the Role

We're a board game business passionate about bringing people together around the table. As our first Community Manager, you'll be the face and heartbeat of our growing community i.e. organising events, nurturing players, and turning casual buyers into loyal regulars.

This is a hands-on, people-first role. You'll be out on the floor, behind the camera, and at the centre of every event we run. If you light up around people and genuinely love board games, this role was made for you. Experience isn't everything here. The right personality and attitude will take you far.

What You'll Do

  • Build and engage our community across online platforms and in-store i.e. responding to messages, sparking conversations, and making members feel seen.
  • Appear on camera for reels, live streams, game demos, and event highlights. You'll be a recognisable face of the brand.
  • Film, edit, and publish short-form video content independently i.e. reels, event recaps, game demos, and community highlights
  • Onboard new players, introduce them to games suited to their taste, and guide them into the community.
  • Track community growth, event attendance, and engagement to help shape our direction.
  • Identify and grow relationships with regulars, gaming groups, and local partners.
  • Represent the brand at external events, expos, and pop-ups when relevant.

The Two Non-Negotiables

1. You must be camera-confident.

Game demos, event livestreams, short-form content — you'll be on screen regularly. We're not looking for a polished influencer, just someone natural, enthusiastic, and genuinely themselves on camera.

2. You must be able to edit video.

Basic social media standard is all we need i.e. shoot, trim, caption, and publish independently using tools like CapCut or Premiere Rush.

You're Probably a Good Fit If You...

  • Are a genuine board game enthusiast. You don't need to be an expert but you need to love the hobby.
  • Are naturally warm and sociable.
  • Are confident and relaxed on camera, even unscripted and in-the-moment.
  • Can film and edit short-form videos to a basic social media standard.
  • Are organised enough to plan something and adapt when things don't go to plan.
  • Are a strong communicator, both in person and in writing.
  • Are eager to learn, grow, and take ownership. We'll build this together.
