Job Summary
Lead safety management to ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and aerodrome safety standards on major construction projects. Coordinate with stakeholders, conduct inspections, and drive risk mitigation to uphold workplace safety and health.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety, health, environmental, and welfare management to ensure project compliance with statutory obligations and aerodrome safety standards
- Manage health, safety, and environmental controls to ensure all works follow established procedures and instructions
- Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders, authorities, agencies, and consultants to align safety efforts
- Prepare and submit daily situation reports to track safety status and issues
- Conduct daily health, safety, and environmental inspections, document findings, and follow up with project safety teams and contractors to close gaps
- Perform investigations of accidents and near-miss incidents, documenting findings accurately on relevant forms
- Implement and monitor safety measures in compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Safety Management System
- Ensure correct execution of risk assessments and safe working procedures on-site
- Identify and highlight training or certification needs to meet legislative, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance standards
- Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment and adhere to all safety requirements and procedures
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 8 years of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) experience, including supervision of major building construction projects
- Registration with MOM as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with at least 5 years of active practice
- Minimum 3 years managing a team of site safety personnel
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in cut and cover tunnels, deep excavation, foundation, and ground improvement works, preferably 5 years with developer or main contractor
- Prior exposure to airside environments and their safety requirements
- Degree in engineering, Workplace Safety and Health disciplines, or related qualifications
