Job Summary

Assist the Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with safety, health, environmental, and welfare standards on projects. Lead daily inspections, risk assessments, accident investigations, and stakeholder coordination to uphold workplace safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Safety Manager in managing safety, health, environmental, and welfare matters to ensure project compliance with statutory obligations and aerodrome safety standards
  • Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental controls to ensure all works follow established procedures and instructions
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, authorities, agencies, and consultants to support safety management activities
  • Prepare and submit daily situation reports to track safety performance and incidents
  • Execute risk assessments and enforce safe working procedures on-site to mitigate hazards
  • Conduct daily health, safety, and environmental inspections, document findings, and follow up with Project Safety Team and contractors to close issues
  • Investigate all accidents and near-miss incidents, record findings accurately on relevant forms, and recommend corrective actions
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and comply with all safety requirements and procedures
  • Implement safety measures aligned with the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Safety Management System standards
  • Identify training and certification needs to ensure compliance with legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, and H.S.E. guidance

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) experience, including supervision of major building construction projects
  • Registered with MOM as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and practicing as WSHO for at least 3 years

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience with cut and cover tunnels, deep excavation, foundation, and ground improvement works, preferably 3 years with developer or main contractor
  • Prior exposure to airside environments and related safety requirements
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate as a team player
