Job Summary
Join H.I.S. International Travel Singapore as a Travel Consultant in the Outbound division to assist in designing and deliver personalized Japan travel experiences.
Working Hours: 5 days per week, Sunday and Monday off
10:00 - 19:00 hrs (with 1 hr Lunch Break)
Responsibilities
- Assist in researching Japan travel options including destinations, flights, hotels, tours, attractions, and transport under guidance from senior staff
- Learn and stay updated on basic Japan travel trends, promotions, and popular travel products
- Support senior consultants in preparing simple travel itineraries based on client needs
- Respond to customer enquiries with supervision, providing basic travel information and options
- Assist in creating customized Japan itineraries for individuals and groups
- Support booking processes for flights, hotels, tours, transportation, and activities using company systems
- Help maintain accurate client records and booking documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers for confirmation and follow-ups
- Provide general customer service support and handle routine travel-related queries
- Perform administrative and operational support tasks as assigned
Preferred Competencies & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, or related fields (fresh graduates welcome)
- Strong interest in Japan travel and willingness to learn destination knowledge
- Prior travel planning experience (school projects, personal travel, or internships) is a plus but not required
- Willingness to learn Global Distribution Systems (GDS)
- Good communication skills in English & Mandarin (Majority of our customers are Mandarin-speaking and prefer to communicate in Mandarin. As this role involves handling customer enquiries, itinerary planning, and bookings, Mandarin is required to serve these customers effectively.)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with guidance
- Team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to develop in the travel industry
- Passion for travel and customer service mindset
