Junior Associate (International Arbitration)

We are looking for a Junior Associate to join our market leading International Arbitration team based in Singapore.

The role will primarily involve work in international commercial arbitrations as well as associated contentious / pre-dispute advisory work. This is mostly SIAC and ICC arbitration seated in Singapore under a variety of applicable laws (Singapore, England & Wales and others). The role involves work across a broad range of sectors, including energy (oil & gas, renewables, power generation), FMCG, commodities, infrastructure, telecoms, technology and financial institutions.

We are looking for a Junior Associate with strong technical knowledge and drafting skills, who is able to manage matters with appropriate levels of supervision. Collegiality is important with this role being part of a wider international arbitration team across offices. The work is generally international in nature and frequently involves a cross-cultural aspect.

Skills and Experience Required

  • NQ to 2 years PQE, qualified ideally in Singapore or England & Wales but we are open to applicants qualified in other jurisdictions, including civil law countries.

  • Strong academic background.

  • A confirmed interest in furthering a career as a specialist international arbitration lawyer.

  • First class legal and drafting skills.

  • Meticulous attention to details, ability to work under pressure and an excellent team player.

  • Ideally qualifying at a leading law firm with experience in complex, high stakes disputes. This is a specialist arbitration team but applicants who have started their careers with a mix of commercial litigation and international arbitration are also encouraged to apply.

  • An interest in oral advocacy experience is advantageous but not necessary at this level.
