Your new role

As the Head of Procurement & Contracts, you will lead and drive the organisation's end-to-end procurement and contract management function. This is a strategic leadership role where you will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring robust governance across all contracting activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading procurement strategy development aligned with business objectives
  • Overseeing sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and contract award processes
  • Managing and mentoring a team of procurement professionals
  • Driving cost optimisation initiatives while maintaining quality and service levels
  • Strengthening supplier partnerships and performance management frameworks
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk frameworks
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders across operations, finance, and legal

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you will bring a strong mix of strategic leadership and hands-on procurement expertise within a relevant industry.

You should have:

  • A minimum of 10 years of procurement and contract management experience, preferably within logistics, maritime, infrastructure, or heavy industries
  • Proven track record in leading procurement teams and managing complex contracts
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • Experience in driving cost efficiencies and process improvements
  • Solid understanding of contract law, risk mitigation, and supplier management
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline (professional certifications such as CIPS are an advantage)
