Production and Integration Engineer

What you'll do

  • Ensure all equipment is assembled and tested to quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate in‑house engineering issues encountered during VSAT integration and testing, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Quality teams for resolution.
  • Create and maintain work instructions and checklists based on manufacturing test guides and implementation plans provided by project owners and solution engineers.
  • Build and test racks, equipment, and kits to support customer integration and test activities.
  • Identify defects during integration and testing, advance issues promptly, and track resolutions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with global integration and test managers, providing regular status updates and work reports.
  • Collaborate with OEMs to troubleshoot hardware, manage firmware updates, and extract fault logs for root‑cause analysis.
  • Support ad hoc testing and configuration requests from engineering and project teams.
  • Align integration and test procedures across regions as part of the global supply chain organisation.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency by identifying bottlenecks using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies.
  • Communicate firmware and software updates to external partners as required.
  • Document testing issues thoroughly and support the returns team on technical matters, including configurations, refurbishments, repairs, and resolutions.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Logistics and Returns as part of the broader supply chain team.
  • Ensure all integration and test equipment is maintained, calibrated, and fully operational.
  • Implement and deliver all tasks assigned by the Integration and Test Manager and leadership.

Operational & Support Duties

  • Maintain a clean, organised integration and test area, adhering to 5S practices before and after work.
  • Provide fixing and support to external integration and test partners, including remote assistance for hardware and software issues.
  • Support supply chain operations, including goods picking and production issuance.
  • Ensure all test antennas are properly maintained and fully operational.
  • Handle, transport, and setup equipment weighing up to 20-30 kg.

The day-to-day

  • Work across the maritime, enterprise, government, and aviation sectors to understand current and future requirements.
  • Analyse and report trends, developments, opportunities, and potential solutions.
  • Maintain strong alignment across the Viasat Global Services organisation, as well as with Product, Procurement, IT, and Finance teams, to understand and incorporate short‑ and long‑term requirements and strategic priorities.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Proven experience in production and engineering environments
  • Experience in VSAT technical troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent command of English and effective presentation abilities
  • Proficient in SAP or equivalent ERP systems, as well as standard office applications
  • Experience with SharePoint and intranet systems
  • Strong Lean and continuous improvement attitude, with a structured and systematic approach to documentation
  • High work capacity with the ability to provide structured reporting, multitask effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Able to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced work environment
