[What the role is]

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, Psychology in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary Studies.

[What you will be working on]

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Lecturer to join our academic team, specialising in Psychology and Social & Emotional Wellness. This role involves delivering high-quality education to diploma students whilst contributing to curriculum development and innovation in mental health and wellbeing education.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Teaching & Curriculum Development

  • Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in psychology and social & emotional wellbeing modules

  • Develop and teach curriculum content for courses including Community Psychology, Mental Wellness, Lifespan Psychology, Social Psychology, Organizational Behaviour

  • Design and implement innovative teaching methodologies for both face-to-face and online learning environments

  • Integrate social and emotional learning components across interdisciplinary programmes

  • Supervise student projects, internships, and research activities

  • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and graduate employability

  • Able to teach at least one evening or weekends in the week

Student Development & Support

  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students

  • Support students' personal and professional development in psychology-related fields

  • Facilitate student engagement in community service and mental health advocacy initiatives

  • Lead student overseas trips

Professional Engagement

  • Maintain active engagement with professional psychology bodies and mental health organisations

  • Participate in research activities and scholarly publications

  • Contribute to consultancy projects and community outreach programmes

[What we are looking for]

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology

  • Relevant professional registration or certification in psychology practice preferred

  • Preferably have 3 years of teaching experience in higher education or relevant industry experience

Professional Experience

  • 3 or more years of work experience in community psychology, mental health services, or social intervention programmes

  • Experience in project supervision and student mentorship

  • Preferably has experience in teaching, curriculum development and course delivery

  • Knowledge of Singapore's mental health landscape and community services advantageous

Skills & Competencies

  • Experience working with diverse populations including youth, adults, and vulnerable communities

  • Proficiency in digital learning platforms and educational technology

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Data Analytics skills
