An opportunity to join the staff of The Economist

We are hiring an Asia news editor, ideally based in Hong Kong or Singapore. The candidate should have knowledge of the region and/or business, economics or finance. They would be expected to help manage our app and homepage in Asian hours, and to write and edit both the World in Brief and a soon-to-be-launched daily business newsletter. They would also have the opportunity to write for the newspaper, and to work on podcasts and videos.

Journalistic experience is not necessary, but the ability to write clearly and entertainingly is crucial. Applicants should send a CV and two sample articles to ***email_hidden***.

One should be no more than 500 words and suitable for publication in The Economist; the other no more than 160 words and suitable for publication in the World in Brief. Both can be on the same topic; neither should have been published elsewhere.

The deadline for applications is July 3rd.
