Position Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer, Systems Design to join our growing engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the design and development of advanced systems and technologies that support scientific innovation and improve global health outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong systems engineering expertise, experience in water analytical instrumentation and water purification technologies, and a proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary and multi-site teams. This position requires both technical leadership and hands-on engineering capabilities in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex system architectures and engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and multi-site teams to define system requirements and deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Drive innovation through the development, testing, and validation of new systems, components, and technologies.
  • Ensure all system designs comply with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • Coordinate project schedules, technical deliverables, and engineering milestones to meet business objectives.
  • Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and engineering records.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics , Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems design engineering or related engineering roles.
  • Basic knowledge of water analytical instruments , water treatment and purification technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in system architecture, modeling methodologies, and engineering tools.
  • Experience leading architecture and engineering activities across multiple or distributed teams.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Experience in scientific or industrial instrument design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project coordination capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in regulated industries or quality-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with systems integration, validation, and verification processes.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced global organization.
