Refinery Advisor (Commodities)

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor refinery operations, maintenance schedules, turnarounds, outages, and restart activities across regional and global markets.
• Track changes in refinery utilization, unit disruptions, operational performance, and infrastructure developments.
• Maintain and update infrastructure and operational databases using multiple sources of market intelligence.
• Analyze refinery margins, operational trends, and market developments to identify potential impacts on supply and demand dynamics.
• Assess the commercial implications of refinery outages, maintenance activities, and operational changes.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational, and analytical teams to validate information and provide actionable insights.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and market intelligence updates for stakeholders.
• Utilize coding and data analysis skills to automate workflows, improve data quality, and enhance reporting efficiency.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Energy, Maritime Studies, Data Analytics, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience within the energy, refining, petrochemical, commodity trading, maritime, or related industries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of Python programming.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with large datasets and derive meaningful business insights.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
