Materials & Supply Chain Manager (Railway)

Our client is a leading transportation and infrastructure operator supporting a large-scale rail network. As part of its continued focus on operational reliability and asset performance, they are seeking a Materials & Supply Chain Manager (Railway) to lead the procurement, inventory and logistics functions supporting maintenance and operational activities.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of critical spare parts, materials, equipment and services required to support a complex, asset-intensive operating environment. Working closely with engineering, maintenance and operational stakeholders, you will oversee sourcing activities, supplier management, procurement governance and inventory planning to ensure operational requirements are met efficiently and cost-effectively.

You will also play a key role in managing warehousing and logistics operations, driving inventory accuracy, monitoring supplier performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining strong procurement controls, ensuring compliance with internal governance requirements and identifying opportunities for cost optimization through strategic sourcing and market engagement.

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline, together with experience in procurement, materials management, inventory control, logistics or supply chain operations. Experience within transportation, rail, manufacturing, engineering, utilities, infrastructure or other asset-intensive industries will be highly regarded. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
