Group Legal Counsel

Our client is a growing consumer retail and FMCG organization with an expanding presence across multiple markets in Asia. As part of its continued growth, the company is seeking an experienced legal professional to support regional business operations and provide strategic legal guidance to key stakeholders.

This role is based in Singapore and offers regional exposure across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

Partner closely with senior leadership to provide legal advice and support on a broad range of commercial and corporate matters across the region.

Coordinate and oversee legal matters involving multiple jurisdictions, ensuring consistency in legal strategy and risk management.

Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of commercial agreements, contracts, policies, and legal documentation.

Serve as a key point of contact between regional stakeholders, local legal teams, and external legal advisors.

Provide practical and business-oriented legal guidance to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

Support business growth projects, new market initiatives, and corporate transactions where required.

Identify, assess, and escalate legal, regulatory, and compliance risks to management.

Manage and coordinate disputes, claims, investigations, and litigation matters together with external counsel.

Monitor legal and regulatory developments that may impact business operations across the region.

Contribute to the development and implementation of legal policies, governance frameworks, and best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Law and qualified to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience gained in private practice, in-house legal roles, or a combination of both.

Experience supporting regional or multi-jurisdictional operations is highly preferred.

Exposure to retail, FMCG, consumer products, distribution, or related industries would be advantageous.

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and attention to detail.

Comfortable engaging with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders across different countries.
