Lead, Partnerships & Communications

Reporting to the Head, Partnerships & Communications, the Lead, Partnerships & Communications supports the day-to-day coordination and implementation of activities within the Partnerships & Communications department, while leading the execution of key departmental initiatives, campaigns, and projects.

The role supports the operationalisation of departmental strategies across fundraising, communications, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement functions, ensuring that initiatives are executed smoothly and in alignment with organisational priorities. He/She coordinates the work of Senior Executives and Executive staff, ensuring clarity in deliverables, timelines, and quality standards across the department, while leading the execution of key departmental initiatives, campaigns, and projects.

The role also facilitates cross-functional coordination, monitors operational progress, and supports the effective implementation of departmental plans under the guidance of the Head, Partnerships & Communications.

Critical Work Functions

Day-to-Day Operational Coordination & Implementation Support

  • Translate departmental strategy into operational workplans, timelines, and task allocations
  • Lead and actively drive the execution of communications, fundraising, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement initiatives, while coordinating cross-functional support where required
  • Ensure all projects and campaigns are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards
  • Coordinate across functions to ensure smooth execution of integrated initiatives
  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks affecting delivery

Team Management & Supervision

  • Assign and coordinate work plans, priorities, and deliverables across the team
  • Monitor operational progress, workload distribution, and quality of deliverables
  • Provide operational guidance, feedback, and on-the-job coaching to team members
  • Ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and accountability across the department

Campaign & Project Management

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of fundraising campaigns, communication initiatives, and partnership activities
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and implementation schedules
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration and execution across fundraising, communications, and partnerships
  • Ensure alignment of campaign execution with approved strategies and objectives
  • Monitor progress and escalate issues to Head, Partnerships & Communications and Senior Management where necessary

Communications & Content Execution Oversight

  • Lead and coordinate the execution of communication plans, social media calendars, and content schedules
  • Review and ensure quality control of communications materials prior to release
  • Coordinate production of publications, campaigns, marketing, and branding materials
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across all platforms and outputs
  • Support alignment of communications with fundraising, partnership, and sector priorities

Fundraising & Partnership Execution Coordination

  • Lead and coordinate the execution of fundraising campaigns, donor engagements, and sponsorship activities
  • Ensure timely delivery of proposals, donor communications, and stewardship materials \
  • Ensure CRM updates and data accuracy related to donors and partners
  • Coordinate engagement activities with corporate partners and stakeholders
  • Ensure smooth execution of donor and partner events

Events & Engagement Management

  • Lead and coordinate the planning and execution of fundraising, partnership, and engagement events
  • Ensure proper coordination of logistics, staffing, and programme flow
  • Manage cross-functional event planning across communications, fundraising, and partnerships
  • Ensure post-event reporting, evaluation, and documentation are completed
  • Support Head, Partnerships & Communications in high-level or strategic events where required

Systems, Processes & Workflow Management

  • Maintain and improve departmental workflows, SOPs, and operational processes
  • Ensure consistent use of CRM, communication tools, and data systems
  • Monitor adherence to internal processes and compliance requirements
  • Identify process gaps and recommend operational improvements
  • Support implementation of new systems or tools for efficiency

Performance Monitoring & Reporting Support

  • Track progress of departmental KPIs and operational deliverables
  • Consolidate updates from all functional teams for reporting purposes
  • Support preparation of reports for Head, Partnerships & Communications and Senior Management
  • Monitor campaign and project performance indicators
  • Highlight risks, delays, and performance issues proactively

Stakeholder Coordination & Internal Alignment

  • Coordinate engagement with internal sectors/departments for joint initiatives
  • Support communication between operational teams and external stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment of messaging and execution across functions
  • Facilitate smooth collaboration between fundraising, communications, and partnerships teams

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing /communications
  • At least 5 years of relevant supervisory experience, preferably in the Non-Profit/Social Sector

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable with using IT systems
  • Strong understanding of various fundraising techniques, including online fundraising through digital and social media platforms, with the ability to engage audiences creatively and effectively
  • Strong understanding of communications, marketing, branding, and stakeholder engagement strategies, including their application in fundraising and partnership contexts
  • Strong understanding of community engagement principles and practices, including volunteer engagement, relationship-building, and sustaining connections with diverse stakeholder groups to support organisational impact and outreach objectives
  • Working knowledge of creative design and editing tools
  • Experience in using Donation Management System(s)
  • IT literacy in managing databases, websites, Client Relationship Management (CRM) software, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing principles and tools, such as SEO/SEM, Google Analytics and Google AdWords
