We are looking for an experienced and delivery-focused Senior Delivery Manager to lead end-to-end product and software delivery across the full lifecycle, from inception, planning, development, deployment, to post go-live support.
The Senior Delivery Manager will be responsible for ensuring product objectives, scope, compliance requirements, delivery plans, milestones, and dependencies are clearly defined, communicated, tracked, and met throughout the delivery lifecycle. The role will work closely with the Project Management Team, engineering team, design team, operations team, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery outcomes meet agreed scope, quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
The Senior Delivery Manager will also cover the responsibilities of a Scrum Master, facilitating Agile delivery practices such as sprint planning, backlog management, retrospectives, and continuous improvement. Where there is no dedicated Operations Manager, the Delivery Manager may also be required to support operational coordination and readiness activities to ensure smooth transition into production and post go-live support.
Be Part of Our Success – Key Responsibilities
• Support end-to-end product lifecycle from inception to leading full product delivery (including post go-live), ensuring product objectives, scope, and compliance requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and met at every stage of delivery.
• Develop and maintain delivery roadmaps and project plans, working closely with the Project Management Team (PMT) to ensure milestones are achievable, dependencies are managed, and delivery timelines are met.
• Ensure delivery outcomes meet agreed scope, quality, budget, and schedule expectations
• Engage and align stakeholders across business and technical teams, facilitating regular touchpoints and reviews to ensure shared understanding of product direction, priorities, and delivery progress.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the engineering team, PMT, and business stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication of delivery status, risks, issues, and decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with the engineering team to ensure technical delivery is on track, providing clarity on priorities and requirements, removing blockers, and ensuring the team has what they need to deliver successfully against product objectives.
• Champion and promote agile and product delivery methodologies within the team, embedding best practices in sprint planning, backlog management, retrospectives, and continuous improvement to drive delivery excellence.
• Identify, track, and manage delivery risks and issues proactively, escalating where necessary and driving timely resolution to minimise impact on delivery timelines and product quality.
• Ensure all product deliverables meet defined compliance, regulatory, and quality standards, working with relevant teams to embed governance and assurance checkpoints throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, design, operations, and business teams, ensuring all workstreams are coordinated and moving cohesively towards shared delivery outcomes.
• Monitor and report on delivery health, providing transparent and accurate updates to senior leadership and the PMT on progress, risks, and any changes to scope, timeline, or resources.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the delivery team, supporting team members in removing blockers and maintaining delivery momentum.
• The Senior Delivery Manager will also cover the role of the Scrum Master.
• The Senior Delivery Manager will cover the role of the Ops Manager in the event there is no OPS manager.
• Lead and oversee delivery of large-scale, high-impact, or mission-critical programmes
• Drive programme planning, execution, governance, and delivery alignment across multiple workstreams
• Manage enterprise-level risks, dependencies, escalations, and delivery trade-offs
• Establish and drive programme governance frameworks, reporting structures, and delivery standards
• Manage executive stakeholder engagement, steering committees, and senior management reporting
• Oversee release planning, operational readiness, implementation governance, and stabilisation activities
• Drive Agile maturity, delivery optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives across teams
• Manage multi-vendor coordination
• Mentor Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters, and delivery teams to strengthen delivery capability
• Support organisational planning, resource strategy, and prioritisation discussions
Requirements
Qualities We Value
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Alternatively, extensive professional experience with demonstrated impact and relevant expertise may be considered in lieu of formal academic qualifications.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in software delivery, project delivery, programme management, Agile delivery, or product delivery management.
• Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Programme Manager, Agile Delivery Lead, Scrum Master, or equivalent role managing end-to-end product delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with hands-on experience in sprint planning, backlog management, and continuous improvement practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage delivery roadmaps, project plans, milestones, dependencies, and cross-functional workstreams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to align business and technical teams around shared delivery goals.
• Strong risk and issue management capabilities, with experience proactively identifying, tracking, and resolving delivery risks.
• Familiarity with compliance, regulatory, governance, and quality requirements within a software delivery context.
• Experience working closely with engineering teams, with sufficient technical literacy to understand delivery blockers, priorities, and dependencies without necessarily being hands-on technically.
• Strong facilitation and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, design, operations, and business teams.
Preferred Experience
• Project Management Professional, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe, Agile, PRINCE2, CITPM, or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Proven track record managing complex enterprise or mission-critical programmes.
• Experience managing multiple teams, large stakeholder groups, and strategic delivery initiatives.
• Deep understanding of software delivery lifecycle, enterprise governance, release management, and operational readiness.
• Experience managing multi-vendor and cross-functional delivery environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Miro, or equivalent tools.
