DIM SUM CHEF

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of dim sum dishes, including steamed, fried, and baked items, ensuring high quality and consistency.
  • Develop and refine recipes to incorporate seasonal ingredients and meet evolving customer preferences.
  • Maintain presentation, flavor, and portion standards in alignment with company expectations.
  • Oversee ingredient preparation, portion control, and inventory management to minimize waste and ensure efficiency.
  • Ensure strict adherence to kitchen hygiene and food safety regulations at all times.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on traditional and modern dim sum preparation techniques.
  • Collaborate with kitchen management to ensure timely and coordinated service, especially during peak periods.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment performance, reporting malfunctions and coordinating maintenance as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dim Sum Chef or Dim Sum Cook in a professional restaurant setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional and contemporary Chinese dim sum preparation techniques, including steaming, frying, and baking.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts as needed.
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent certification preferred, but not mandatory.
