Low-Voltage Electrical Engineer

  • Up to $4,500 basic + variable bonus.

  • Location: Vision Exchange, Jurong East

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Electrical Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge electrical power systems, battery energy storage solutions, vessel automation, and propulsion integration projects from concept through to commissioning and vessel delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead and manage marine electrical and hybrid vessel projects from project kick-off to final delivery.

  • Develop, monitor, and coordinate project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource planning.

  • Work closely with shipyards, shipowners, equipment manufacturers, system integrators, and classification societies.

  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual, technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor project budgets, variation orders, and cost performance.

Engineering & Technical Support

  • Review and coordinate engineering deliverables including:

    • SingleLine Diagrams (SLD)

    • Load flow and short-circuit calculations

    • Protection coordination studies

    • General arrangement drawings and system layouts

    • I/O lists and interface documentation

  • Oversee the integration of:

    • DC and AC switchboards

    • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

    • Power Management Systems (PMS)

    • Alarm Monitoring Systems (AMS)

    • PLC control systems

    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)

    • Electric and hybrid propulsion systems

  • Ensure compliance with marine classification requirements such as DNV, BV, RINA, CCS, and other relevant standards.

  • Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering issues throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the key technical liaison between project stakeholders, suppliers, shipyards, and classification societies.

  • Review vendor documentation and coordinate approvals and submissions.

  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT), commissioning activities, and troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate installation and integration activities to ensure successful project execution.

Commercial & Project Support

  • Support tender preparation, technical proposals, and quotation activities.

  • Review technical specifications and identify project cost implications.

  • Assist with technical clarifications, variation orders, and contract administration.

Site Supervision & Commissioning

  • Attend shipyard meetings and project coordination sessions.

  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

  • Coordinate mooring trials, harbour trials, and sea trials.

  • Ensure successful vessel delivery and handover documentation.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate project records and document control systems.

  • Prepare project progress reports and technical updates for management.

  • Ensure proper archiving of engineering documentation and as-built drawings.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, design, drafting, or project execution.

  • Experience within the Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas, Shipbuilding, or related industries is essential.

  • Knowledge of low-voltage power distribution systems and electrical engineering principles.

  • Experience preparing singleline diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment layouts.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and electrical drafting software.

  • Familiarity with switchboards, motor control centres (MCC), distribution boards, and power distribution equipment.
