Business Development

As part of a fast-growing training organisation, you will be responsible for strengthening relationships with existing clients while driving business growth through the acquisition of new customers. This role combines account management and business development, with a focus on customer retention, engagement, and revenue growth. You will play a key role in expanding the company's market presence and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the client journey.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and resourceful professional with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. A high level of responsiveness, professionalism, confidence, and accountability is essential.

Job Responsibilities

Business Development and Customer Acquisition

- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, partnerships, and other lead-generation channels.

- Develop and execute effective strategies to attract, engage, and convert prospective clients.

- Work closely with the Marketing team to align lead-generation initiatives and maximise conversion rates.

Client Relationship Management

- Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to support long-term engagement and retention.

- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell relevant programmes and services based on client needs and business objectives.

- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and overall engagement.

- Respond promptly and professionally to client enquiries, concerns, and requests.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with internal teams, including Marketing, Learning & Development, and Programme Management, to ensure alignment between client needs and business objectives.

- Share client feedback and market insights to support continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence.

Reporting and Analysis

- Collect and analyse customer feedback, engagement data, and business metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

- Prepare regular reports on customer engagement, retention, business development activities, and acquisition performance.

Requirements

Education and Experience

- Degree from a recognised university.

- At least 8 years of relevant experience in financial services training, corporate training, or the financial services sector.

Skills

- Business Development and Sales: Proven ability to identify opportunities, build pipelines, and generate new business.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.

- Client Management: Strong customer service orientation and commitment to delivering a positive client experience.

- Project Management: Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and priorities concurrently.

- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to address client challenges and develop practical solutions.
