SAFETY OFFICER

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, regulations, and company safety policies.
- Prepare and implement Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and safety plans.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and safety training for workers and staff.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor work activities to ensure safe work practices are followed at all times.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills and evacuation exercises.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and statutory documentation.
- Advise management on safety improvements and measures to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities on safety-related matters.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel on site.
- Stop unsafe work practices and recommend immediate corrective actions when necessary.
- Monitor environmental, health, and safety performance at the workplace.
- Assist in safety audits and inspections conducted by clients or regulatory authorities.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage worker participation in safety programs.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in construction or utilities
- Valid WSH Officer recognized by MOM.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulatory requirements.
- Able to work 6 days per week and willing to be stationed on-site.
- Good leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
