Commis Cook – Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs in the preparation and cooking of food items.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and food presentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with stock replenishment and ingredient storage.
- Support kitchen operations during service periods.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Receive and store deliveries according to company procedures.
- Perform other duties assigned by senior kitchen staff.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Relevant culinary qualification or kitchen experience is an advantage.
