Instrument Engineer

Role Objective :

To serve as a Lead I&C Engineer utilizing specialized expertise to:

  • Execute Strategy: Develop and deliver robust I&C (Instrument & Control) strategy from planning and execution through commissioning.
  • Manage Interfaces: Manage complex interdisciplinary interfaces, and enforce robust data integrity
  • Control Risk: Systematically identify technical risks and implement effective mitigation measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and coordinate with client on I&C design philosophy and technical issue, and develop the appropriate solution to address the challenges
  • Coordinate with client, third parties as well as national and local regulators to address relevant issues and close the gaps
  • Responsible for technical tender document review, technical clarification, prepare or review the TBE etc.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to designers on a regular basis, with no less than 6 times or 20 hours of training per year.
  • Be responsible for other related work assigned by company.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or above in a relevant discipline;
  • More than 10 years of work experience in I&C design of offshore fixed platform or floating oil and gas production facilities, including more than 5 years in international projects.
  • Preference given to those with Middle East project work experiences. Candidates with work experiences in internationally renowned engineering companies will also be given priority.
  • Possess rich experiences in shipyard or site technical support.
  • Well-versed in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.)
  • Strong work ethics with a great sense of responsibility and highly self-driven.
  • Able to work overtime if required as per project plan.
  • Able to travel overseas if project requires.
  • Strong proficiency in English writing and communicating skills, with native English speakers being preferred.

Technical Skills Requirements:

  • Familiar with I&C expertise (such as DCS, SIS, FGS, HIPS, wellhead control panel, oil and gas custody transfer, control valve, ESDV, flowmeter, etc), technical specifications (SIL, HAZOP, fire and gas mapping, cyber security, etc), and industry regulations and policies (such as IEC, ISO, EN, API, NFPA, ASME, ANSI,ISA, NEMA, AGA, ASTM, shell DEP, BP standards, TOTAL standard, NORSOK, etc.)
  • Familiar with the design procedure of international projects, strong ability to develop and manage technical solutions, promptly identify and resolve issues, and effectively control and mitigate risks.
  • Proficient in instrument control design software, such as SPI, INSTRUCALC, AutoCAD, etc.
