Colour & Material Development Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine colour formulations utilizing colour theory to meet specific target shades.

• Perform colour matching across diverse polymer systems while preserving material properties.

• Operate and interpret data from colour spectrophotometers using SCI and SCE methods.

• Prepare comprehensive and professional reports for both customer review and internal purposes.

• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and translate them into effective formulation solutions.

• Source and assess alternative raw materials based on performance, cost, and availability.

• Operate injection molding machines and extruders for producing test samples and colour plaques.

• Optimize processing parameters to ensure colour consistency and address any defects encountered.

• Maintain thorough documentation related to formulations, trials, and processing conditions.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.

• Preferred background in colour matching, masterbatch, or polymer compounding.

• Required hands-on experience with spectrophotometers (SCI/SCE).

• Familiarity with injection molding and/or extrusion processes is advantageous.

• Basic programming skills (e.g., Python) are beneficial.

• Strong understanding of colour theory and practical colour matching techniques.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Capable of effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
