Job Summary
The Senior Network Engineer will manage daily network operations, ensuring alignment with organizational growth and operational goals. This role supports infrastructure resilience, security, and performance across networks, servers, storage, middleware, and databases.
Responsibilities
- Perform network administration across heterogeneous environments (production, DR, test) including network and security equipment and telecommunication links to ensure operational stability
- Harden, upgrade, and enhance IT infrastructure components to maintain security and performance standards
- Monitor, assess, schedule, and implement security vulnerability patches on network and product systems to mitigate risks
- Track obsolescence of network systems and plan timely upgrades or replacements to maintain infrastructure reliability
- Manage expiry and renewal of network system passwords and certificates to uphold system security
- Implement network backup operations to guarantee data recoverability and support business continuity
- Execute disaster recovery plans for network systems and conduct regular DR testing and switchover exercises to validate standby equipment usability
- Provide 24x7 support by working in 5 shifts to ensure continuous network availability
- Deliver system and network support for projects, adhering to project timelines and requirements
- Manage infrastructure enhancement projects following established project management guidelines to meet organizational objectives
- Provide second-level network support to resolve incidents and problems within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Diagnose network problems, propose, and implement measures to prevent incident recurrence
- Schedule and release network system changes into production environments following change management procedures
- Present and articulate change requests effectively in Change Advisory Board (CAB) or Change Approval Meeting Committee (CAMC) sessions
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive configuration database/library for operating systems, hardware, and software components in production
- Monitor infrastructure system and network capacity, and plan for future growth to ensure optimal resource utilization
- Perform network performance tuning to optimize system efficiency and responsiveness
- Implement IT service management processes aligned with corporate security policies and guidelines
- Develop and maintain technical and process documentation to support IT infrastructure upkeep and knowledge sharing
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience managing network and security equipment such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancer, DNS, NAC in financial institutions or mission-critical environments
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience
- Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise, CheckPoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA), Certified Cloud Security Engineer (CCSE), Palo Alto Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) (up to level 4), or Certified Network Defender
