Job Summary

You will teach the French National Curriculum in English to children aged 2 to 6 using play-based, inquiry-driven methods. Collaborate with French and Mandarin teachers to create coherent learning pathways and support children’s development in a multilingual environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the French Curriculum in English using play-based, inquiry-driven, and developmentally appropriate teaching methods to children aged 2 to 6, including multi-age groups
  • Co-plan lessons with French and Mandarin language teachers to align learning objectives and ensure consistency across language programs
  • Observe, assess, and support each child’s cognitive, social, and emotional development to tailor learning experiences
  • Communicate learning observations and progress regularly with the School Principal and families to foster transparency and engagement
  • Collaborate with the Classroom Assistant to manage daily routines, transitions, and learning moments effectively
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the school’s pedagogical vision and curriculum
  • Supervise children during morning and/or afternoon breaks according to the schedule to ensure safety and well-being
  • Participate actively in all team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance teaching practices
  • Engage in school community activities such as Open Houses, community events, and end-of-year celebrations to support school life beyond the classroom
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, including conducting scheduled parent-teacher meetings to discuss child progress
  • Support extracurricular and enrichment activities when relevant to broaden children’s learning experiences
  • Uphold and promote the school’s vision, mission, and values in all professional activities
  • Foster a classroom environment based on trust, respect, emotional safety, and collaboration to support positive learning outcomes
  • Maintain high professional standards and model best practices in early childhood education
  • Adhere strictly to all school policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and inclusive international school culture

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Qualified Early Years or Primary Teacher (French curriculum experience preferred)
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Experience working with children aged 2–6, ideally in an international or bilingual context
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and language acquisition
  • Reflective, collaborative, and passionate about innovative, child-centred education
  • Comfortable working in a multilingual, multicultural environment
