BIM Manager

About the role

SMITECH is seeking an experienced BIM Manager to lead BIM implementation, coordination and model management for a major Civil and M&E construction project.

This role will work closely with the project delivery team, consultants, subcontractors, engineers, coordinators and management to ensure accurate BIM modelling, clash coordination, drawing production, model quality control and project digital delivery.

This project role is to be based on site on a 5.5-day work week.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall BIM strategy, BIM execution planning and model coordination for Civil, Structural, Architectural and M&E works.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project BIM Execution Plan, modelling standards, naming conventions, coordination workflows and model submission requirements.
• Manage federated BIM models and coordinate multidisciplinary model reviews across Civil, Structural, Architectural, Electrical, ACMV, Plumbing & Sanitary, Fire Protection and ELV services.
• Lead clash detection, constructability reviews and coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, RE/RTO teams and internal project stakeholders.
• Review BIM models, shop drawings, combined services drawings, builders’ work drawings and as-built documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance with project requirements.
• Guide BIM Coordinators and modellers on modelling standards, drawing output, model updates and coordination priorities.
• Track and resolve BIM issues, coordination clashes and model discrepancies to support timely site execution.
• Support project planning, sequencing, construction methodology, temporary works coordination and site installation requirements through BIM where applicable.
• Manage BIM submissions, model audits, revision control, CDE / document control workflows and handover deliverables.
• Drive digital coordination practices to improve productivity, reduce rework and support smooth project delivery.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Building, Architecture, Construction Management, Digital Delivery, BIM or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant BIM / digital delivery experience, preferably in Civil, M&E, infrastructure or large-scale construction projects.
• At least 3 years in a BIM lead / BIM Manager / senior BIM coordination capacity.
• Strong experience in BIM Execution Plan, federated models, clash detection, model coordination, drawing production and as-built model management.
• Proficient in relevant BIM and coordination tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Bentley, AutoCAD, BIM 360 / ACC or equivalent CDE platforms.
• Good understanding of Civil, Structural, Architectural and M&E coordination requirements in construction projects.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings and authority / consultant requirements.
• Strong coordination experience with consultants, subcontractors, engineers, site teams and project management.
• Good leadership, communication, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Prior experience in Singapore infrastructure, transport, utilities, MRT/LTA-related, public-sector or large-scale M&E projects will be an advantage.
