CAD-CAM ENGINEER

ACTIVE PRECISION ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking a skilled anddetail-oriented CAD-CAM Engineer to support design and manufacturing processes in a precision engineering environment. The role involves generating CNC programs, preparing technical drawings, and ensuring smooth integration between design and machining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify 2D/3D CAD drawings based on customer specifications and engineering requirements
• Develop and optimise CNC machining programs using CAM software
• Interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing requirements
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient machining processes
• Perform toolpath simulation and verification prior to production
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies
• Provide technical support to machinists during setup and production
• Troubleshoot CNC machining/programming issues and implement improvements
• Maintain proper documentation of drawings, programs, and revision control
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and workplace safety regulations

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in CAD-CAM programming in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in precision engineering or CNC machining operations preferred

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar)
• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360 or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes (Milling / Turning)
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
• Experience in CNC programming (G-code generation and editing)
• Familiarity with machining materials (e.g., aluminium, stainless steel, alloys)
• Understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies
