Platform Engineer (VMware SME)
IKAS INTERNATIONAL (ASIA) PTE. LTD.
Responsibilities:
- Act as subject matter expert for enterprise virtualisation environments built on VMware vSphere and VMware vCenter
- Manage end-to-end lifecycle operations including upgrades, patching, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning
- Drive infrastructure stability through proactive monitoring, incident resolution, and root cause analysis
- Implement automation for operational efficiency using PowerCLI, PowerShell, and Python
- Support infrastructure resilience, high availability, and disaster recovery planning
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory standards
- Follow and enforce ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Contribute to DevOps-driven operational improvements and infrastructure as code initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of VMware technologies and virtualization concepts.
- Hands-on experience with automation scripting (PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python).
- Understanding of Information Security, DevOps, and ITIL processes.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certification.
