Assistant Manager-Senior Accountant

Job Responsibilities

· Prepare and submit quarterly and yearly statutory returns in accordance with MAS reporting requirements.

· Execute and manage quarterly closing activities including preparing GL journal entries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

· Handle investment accounting including bank reconciliation and reporting of investment portfolios.

· Review journal posting entries prepared by junior staff.

· Prepare management reports and perform business analysis.

· Prepare and filing of GST quarterly returns.

· Review income tax computation.

· Support financial audits by preparing schedule, reconciliation and documentation.

· Perform balance sheet reconciliation and investigate variances.

· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

· Prepare annual reports in compliance with FRS 117.

· Monitoring premium collection.

· Assist in automation of reporting processes, participate in accounting system upgrades and enhance internal controls.

· Assist in GST ACAP and system enhancement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, with:
  • Experience in general insurance accounting
  • Prior external audit experience
  • Strong knowledge of investment accounting
  • Hands-on experience preparing MAS regulatory returns for insurers
  • Familiarity with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and insurance-specific standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in accounting systems and Excel
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
