The Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Lead to oversee and coordinate Digify's finance function on a part-time basis (24 hours per week).

This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining effective financial controls, coordinating with internal and external finance stakeholders, and supporting management with financial insights and planning. The position works alongside experienced part-time accountants and external accounting providers, allowing the Finance Lead to focus on oversight, review, reporting, and continuous improvement.

What you will be doing

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Review monthly financial reports prepared by external accounting firms (Singapore and US)
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Identify issues and drive resolution with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain a structured monthly close and reporting process

Operational Finance Ownership

  • Take ownership of day-to-day finance-related decisions, including:
    • Expense approvals in line with company policies
    • Refunds, write-offs, and payment-related decisions
    • Handling of late payments and related judgment calls
  • Ensure consistency and sound judgment in financial decision-making

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the key bridge between internal accounting, external firms, and management
  • Lead monthly financial review discussions and ensure timely follow-up on action items
  • Provide clear and concise financial insights to the CEO and leadership team

Financial Governance & Improvements

  • Strengthen financial processes, controls, and reporting clarity
  • Provide guidance on accounting treatment for complex transactions
  • Ensure readiness for audits, tax filings, and due diligence processes

Financial Operations & Process Optimisation

  • Review current finance workflows across internal and external stakeholders and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and clarity
  • Optimise the use of internal and external resources, including evaluating work currently outsourced to accounting firms
  • Gradually transition appropriate finance processes back in-house where it is efficient and sustainable to do so
  • Identify opportunities for automation and simplification of recurring finance processes
  • Balance process improvements with practicality, ensuring solutions remain lean and fit-for-purpose for a small team

Cash Flow & Financial Visibility

  • Oversee cash flow position and ensure visibility across entities
  • Highlight risks and ensure timely action

External Support (as needed)

  • Support investor requests by providing relevant data and explanations
  • Coordinate with external advisors where required

Transition & Ownership

This role will involve a structured transition period. In the initial months, you will work closely with the Corporate Lead to understand existing processes and decision-making approaches. Over time, you will take full ownership of operational finance decisions and financial oversight.

Working Style

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Finance Lead, Head of Finance, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
  • Ability to independently oversee a finance function and ensure timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting.
  • Experience reviewing monthly financial statements, management reports, reconciliations, and key financial controls.
  • Experience coordinating with external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors, banks, corporate secretarial firms, and accounting service providers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, explain financial performance, and provide practical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work directly with company leadership.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on environment.
  • Able to work independently and effectively coordinate with remote and part-time team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a SaaS, technology, software, or subscription-based business.
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and group financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with both Singapore accounting regulations and practices.
  • Familiarity with U.S. accounting environments is of advantage.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and management reporting.
  • Experience improving finance processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI and modern software tools to improve productivity and efficiency.
