Role Overview
We are looking for a full-time Lead Hardware Automation Engineer to help design, prototype, build, and scale the automation systems behind a new generation of interactive luxury commerce experiences.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable in industrial automation environments and fast-moving maker-style prototyping. You should understand the discipline of classic PLC-based systems, while also having the curiosity and practical creativity to build, test, and iterate with tools such as Arduino, STM microcontrollers, 3D printing, basic electronics, sensors, actuators, and custom hardware assemblies.
This role is not about simply maintaining machinery. It is about creating intelligent, reliable, elegant hardware systems that support best-in-class customer experiences.
What You’ll Do
You will lead the development of hardware automation systems that combine mechanical movement, electronics, software control, robotics, and cloud-connected product experiences. You will work across concept development, prototyping, testing, commissioning, documentation, and production readiness.
A major part of the role will involve robotic arm control, including movement planning, repeatability, safety, calibration, end-effector integration, and coordination with digital systems. You will help design automation experiences that feel smooth, premium, reliable, and intentional.
You will also work with PLCs, sensors, motors, controllers, relays, IO systems, embedded boards, custom fixtures, and prototype hardware. You should be able to move between structured industrial automation thinking and inventive hands-on problem solving.
You will collaborate closely with software, product, design, 3D, video, and leadership teams to turn ambitious ideas into working systems. You will also help establish a modern engineering process that uses AI-assisted development, simulation, rapid prototyping, version-controlled documentation, structured testing, and tight feedback loops to move quickly without sacrificing quality or safety.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with strong practical experience in automation, robotics, controls, and hardware prototyping. You should be comfortable working with PLCs and industrial control systems, while also having real DIY maker experience building functional prototypes from the ground up.
You should have experience with robotic arm controls and be able to think clearly about motion, precision, reliability, safety, and integration with software systems.
More importantly, you should bring energy, ownership, and pride in craft. You are hungry to build best-in-class products. You care about the end customer experience, not just whether the machine technically works. You are highly motivated, effective, resourceful, and willing to solve problems with whatever combination of engineering rigor and creative improvisation is required.
