Facilities Engineer Job Description (Construction/Property Context)
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Management: Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of building systems (electrical, water supply, HVAC, fire protection).
System Operations: Conduct daily inspections of M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) systems to ensure functionality and safety.
Contractor Supervision: Manage outsourced service providers, monitor KPIs, and ensure minimal disruption to building operations.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to BCA standards, fire safety rules, and environmental regulations.
Project Management: Support system upgrades, improvement projects, and energy-saving initiatives.
Reporting: Prepare maintenance reports, track utilities, and recommend efficiency improvements.
Emergency Response: Be on standby for emergencies, coordinate incident response, and enforce safety measures.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
3–7 years of relevant experience in Facilities Management or Construction Engineering.
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
Good communication skills to liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
