We are looking for an experienced and passionate
Indian Chef
to join our restaurant team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes, maintaining food quality and hygiene standards, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring an excellent dining experience for customers. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Indian cuisine preparation and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes including North Indian and/or South Indian cuisine as per restaurant standards
- Plan and execute daily kitchen operations and food preparation activities
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Monitor food quality and freshness of ingredients
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Manage inventory and coordinate procurement of kitchen supplies
- Supervise kitchen assistants and support staff where required
- Minimize food wastage and maintain cost efficiency
- Develop and introduce new menu items based on customer preferences and business requirements
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of customer orders
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure operational readiness Requirements
Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience as a Chef in an Indian restaurant
- Strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, spices, and traditional recipes
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays
- Relevant culinary certification is an advantage
Experience in preparing North Indian / South Indian / Tandoori / Curry dishes (customize based on restaurant type)
