Group Accountant (Construction Industry)

Our client is a well-established construction, property development and specialist engineering solutions provider. Currently, they are currently seeking for Group Accountant to be part of HR team.
JOB DIMENSION (SCOPE)
- Supports financial reporting, group consolidation, and regulatory compliance for an SGX-listed group with multiple subsidiaries. The role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant reporting in accordance with SFRS(I)/IFRS, SGX Listing Rules, and statutory requirements, while supporting audit, tax, and corporate reporting obligations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidations, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliation of minority interests.
- Review subsidiary management accounts and prepare consolidated management reports with detailed variance analysis for Management and Board reporting.
- Support quarterly and annual SGX financial announcements, ensuring compliance with SGX Listing Rules and timelines.
- Prepare draft group financial statements (SFRS(I)), including disclosures, notes, and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate statutory and SGX-related audits across subsidiaries; manage audit deliverables and resolve audit queries promptly.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries on statutory audits, corporate tax matters, and XBRL filings.
- Support budgeting and forecasting at group level, including analysis of variances against budget and prior periods.
- Assist Finance Manager and Financial Controller in overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring accuracy and reporting deadlines are met.
- Implement new or revised accounting standards and SGX disclosure requirements, assessing impact and coordinating adoption across the Group.
- Drive process improvement, standardisation, and automation initiatives to strengthen internal controls and reporting efficiency.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to finance teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and governance in group reporting.
- Support ad hoc projects, corporate initiatives, and finance-related matters as required by Management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in project accounting / construction / engineering industries.
- Experience in Accounts Payable or Full Sets of Accounts.
- Strong knowledge of project cost tracking and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Positive attitude with able to work independently under tight deadlines and well-organised.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with project teams
