WSH Officer – Job Responsibilities (SPPG / LS Cable Project)
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements, project safety procedures, and client requirements.
- Monitor and supervise high-risk activities
- Review and verify Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) applications before work commencement.
- Conduct safety induction, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, and prepare investigation reports with corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure workers use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with project safety requirements.
- Monitor housekeeping standards and ensure work areas are maintained in a safe and orderly condition.
- Liaise with SPPG representatives, project management team, subcontractors, and relevant authorities on all WSH matters.
- Maintain and update safety records, inspection reports, training records, PTW records, and statutory documents.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly WSH reports and participate in project safety meetings.
Requirements:
Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM.
Require SPPG - Project Safety Management Course
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in construction, utility, infrastructure, or cable installation projects.
Familiar with WSH Act, WSH (Construction) Regulations, and MOM requirements.
Good communication and coordination skills with clients, contractors, and workers.
Able to work independently and manage site safety matters effectively.
