SAP Key User (Sales and Distribution & Finance)

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the global subject matter expert for SAP SD and, subsequently, SAP FI and CO, providing advanced support, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex business and system-related issues.

• Develop a deep understanding of highly customized internal SAP processes and translate business requirements into sustainable and scalable solutions for global stakeholders.

• Act as the key liaison between business users and IT teams, ensuring requirements are accurately captured, documented, and implemented in accordance with internal governance, compliance, and control frameworks.

• Maintain and oversee critical master data within SAP SD and FI/CO, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, auditability, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Analyze current business processes, identify gaps, inefficiencies, or inconsistencies, and contribute to process documentation, stabilization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Provide structured user support and training programs tailored to different levels of user maturity across regions and business functions.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, user manuals, work instructions, and decision records to support transparency and long-term knowledge management.

• Participate in system testing, enhancement projects, and global rollout activities, with a focus on operational reliability, business continuity, and successful user adoption.

• Continuously strengthen expertise in SAP SD, FI, and CO modules, as well as internal business rules, system interfaces, and cross-functional process dependencies.

Requirements

• Willingness to invest significant time in learning and understanding complex business processes before independently delivering solutions.

• Ability to work effectively in highly complex and ambiguous environments.

• Comfortable operating without predefined solutions and within heavily customized system landscapes.

• Strong commitment to documentation quality, process transparency, and long-term system sustainability.

• Ability to challenge stakeholders constructively when business requirements conflict with system integrity, governance standards, or control frameworks.

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience as an SAP Key User, Business Process Owner, Process Specialist, or a similar role covering SAP SD and/or SAP FI/CO.

• Proven experience working with complex, customized SAP environments rather than standardized template-based or greenfield implementations.

• Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes across Sales, Finance, and Controlling functions.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues across SAP modules, organizational structures, and integrated systems.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex SAP concepts and issues to non-technical stakeholders.

• High level of discipline, persistence, and attention to detail in documentation, process analysis, and issue resolution.

• Ability to work independently within a global, matrix-structured organization.
