Deputy General Manager

Position Summary

This role serves as the Head of Regional IT,responsible for establishing and strengthening IT governance across Asia(excluding China and Korea). The position drives regional IT strategy,governance, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with Nikon Group IT policies while optimizing IT investments, enhancing information security, and improving overall business efficiency across regional subsidiaries.

Roles and responsibilities

1. Regional IT Governance & Leadership

  • Lead the establishment and continuous enhancement of regional IT governance frameworks across Asia
  • Act as the primary interface between Nikon global IT (ITS) and regional subsidiaries
  • Translate and localize HQ IT strategy, policies, and governance standards, implement and ensure alignment across the region
  • Drive cross-country collaboration and governance consistency across approximately 10 regional entities

2. IT Strategy, Planning & Investment

  • Communicate and work closely with Japan HQ IT to define and execute regional IT strategies and investment roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Optimize IT investments to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate security risks
  • Oversee planning and execution of system implementation and lifecycle management
  • Ensure effective balance of Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) across all IT initiatives
  • Identify and promote adoption of emerging technologies in line with business needs
  • Analyze, provide report to Japan HQ management, identify gap and solution to improve IT security and governance across the region

3. Information Security & Compliance

  • Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of information security controls across the region and provide regular update to Japan HQ
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards in Asia
  • Monitor regulatory developments and proactively address potential impacts
  • Drive security awareness initiatives and training programs across subsidiaries

4. Program, Project & Vendor Management

  • Govern and oversee IT programs through structured project management and review processes
  • Ensure successful delivery of IT projects with stability, scalability, and performance in mind
  • Manage vendor lifecycle including selection, evaluation, and performance management
  • Maintain strong partnerships with external vendors to support regional IT operations

5. Organizational Development & Capability Building

  • Build and strengthen a high-performing regional IT organization
  • Develop and implement talent management and capability development strategies
  • Enhance IT competencies across regional subsidiaries
  • Improve organizational processes to drive operational excellence and QCD performance

6. Financial & Operational Management

  • Lead the NSG IT organization with full accountability for operational performance
  • Establish and manage QCD targets across regional IT operations
  • Optimize IT CapEx and OpEx, maintaining cost increases within target thresholds (<5%)
  • Ensure effective governance and transparency in IT budgeting and spending

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of IT managementexperience in multinational organizations
  • Strong background in IT governance, information security, and enterprise systems
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale IT programs and cross-border initiatives
  • Strong leadership andorganizational management capabilities
  • Deep understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices
  • Expertise in change management and enterprise IT frameworks
  • Strong analytical,strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in implementing business strategy and translate Japan Headquarter directions, strategy and policies to the to Asia, Oceania and Middle East regions
  • Excellent communication skill is needed to communicate with Japan HQ and all business stakeholders.
  • In depth knowledge of regional regulatory and security requirements in Asia
  • Willingness to travel within the region (10–15%)
