Country Director
STARCHARGE ENERGY PTE. LTD.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute the Singapore country business plan in alignment with Asia Pacific strategy.
- Identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities in EV charging, microgrid, and integrated energy solutions.
- Drive market share expansion and ensure achievement of revenue, gross margin, and profitability targets.
2. Sales & Key Account Management
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle: lead generation, solution design, proposal, pricing, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with C-level and senior decision makers at key accounts (utilities, real estate developers, fleet operators, automotive OEMs, government agencies).
- Represent the company in industry forums, government engagements, and strategic partnerships.
3. Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing cross-functional team (Sales, Solution, Service, Operations).
- Set clear OKRs / KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and mentoring.
- Foster a performance-driven, customer-centric, and inclusive team culture.
4. Operations & Financial Management
- Own full P&L responsibility for the Singapore business.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and monthly / quarterly business reviews.
- Ensure effective working capital management, including AR collection and inventory control.
- Drive operational efficiency, process standardization, and continuous improvement.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with Singapore laws, regulations, and corporate governance.
- Manage contracts, legal affairs, and corporate risk in coordination with regional / HQ functions.
- Uphold company values, ethics, and code of conduct.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with regional functions (Solution, Service, Finance, HR, Legal) to deliver business outcomes.
- Share market intelligence, best practices, and learnings with other Asia Pacific countries.
Requirements:
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in sales, business development, or country management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven P&L ownership track record with demonstrated revenue growth.
- Understanding of the Singapore energy / e-mobility / infrastructure landscape.
- Strong network with key stakeholders in utilities, government, real estate, and/or automotive sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willing to travel as required.
Nice to Have
- Experience in EV charging, microgrid, renewable energy, or power infrastructure industries.
- Regional / multi-country experience in Southeast Asia.
