Job Summary:
Maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment by supporting end-to-end sterile processing to ensure safe and efficient clinical operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, decontaminate, inspect, package, sterilise, store and distribute surgical instruments and supplies
- Operate washer-disinfectors, dryers, ultrasonic washers and sterilisation equipment
- Perform and monitor sterilisation test indicators to ensure compliance
- Manage inventory of sterile linen and surgical consumables
- Issue sterile supplies to operating theatres and clinical areas
- Maintain cleanliness of storage and decontamination areas
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment; report faults and arrange repair/replacement
- Identify instruments requiring repair or replacement and notify the relevant person-in-charge
- Support smooth daily operations within the sterile services unit
- Communicate and hand over critical information to team members
- Participate in quality improvement and service-related activities
- Stay updated on current healthcare practices
Requirements:
- ITE qualification in Engineering, relevant technical certification, or WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Sterilisation Services)
- Experience in CSSD/TSSU or as an Instrument Technical Assistant is an added advantage
- Good interpersonal and supervisory skills
- Proficiency in written English for documentation in English and liaising with English-speaking stakeholders
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
