Director, Mergers & Acquisitions (Investment Banking)
Job Responsibilities
- Originate and execute M&A transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, privatizations, and cross-border transactions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporates, financial sponsors, institutional investors, and key decision-makers to generate transaction opportunities.
- Lead transaction execution, including valuation analysis, financial modelling, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiations, and documentation.
- Prepare and present client pitches, transaction proposals, information memorandums, management presentations, and board materials.
- Advise clients on strategic alternatives, valuation considerations, transaction structures, and market conditions.
- Coordinate internal product teams and external advisors including legal counsel, accountants, tax advisors, and consultants throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Manage transaction timelines and ensure successful execution from origination through completion.
- Monitor industry trends, market developments, and M&A activities to identify opportunities and provide strategic insights to clients.
- Mentor and develop junior bankers, overseeing work quality and professional development.
- Support revenue generation and achievement of business targets for the M&A franchise.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in M&A, investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or transaction advisory.
- Strong track record in originating and executing M&A transactions across multiple sectors.
- Advanced financial modelling, valuation, and transaction structuring capabilities.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent client management, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead complex transactions and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong commercial acumen with an established network of corporate and investor relationships.
Preferred Experience
- Experience covering cross-border M&A transactions within Asia.
- Sector expertise in technology, healthcare, industrials, consumer, financial institutions, or real assets.
- Existing client relationships with corporates, family offices, private equity firms, and institutional investors.
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, ACA, or equivalent would be advantageous.
