Regulatory Compliance Officer (Banking)
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments and assess their impact on the bank’s operations and business activities.
- Provide regulatory compliance advisory to business units on applicable laws, regulations, MAS notices, guidelines, and internal policies.
- Conduct compliance reviews and monitoring programs to assess adherence to regulatory requirements and identify control gaps.
- Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks across the organization.
- Review and update compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
- Liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders on regulatory matters, inspections, and inquiries.
- Prepare regulatory reports, compliance management updates, and governance committee materials.
- Provide compliance training and regulatory awareness programs to employees.
- Support compliance risk assessments and contribute to the development of risk mitigation measures.
- Assist in regulatory projects, policy enhancements, and remediation initiatives arising from audits or regulatory reviews.
Requirements
- Degree in Law, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–10 years of regulatory compliance experience within banking, financial institutions, asset management, or securities firms.
- Strong knowledge of MAS regulations, banking regulations, compliance frameworks, and regulatory risk management.
- Experience in compliance advisory, regulatory monitoring, policy review, and stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.
- Experience interacting with regulators, auditors, and senior management stakeholders.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, CFA, FRM, or compliance-related qualifications would be advantageous.
