About the Role

Tanjong Pagar United FC is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Fitness Coach to support the First Team in the Singapore Premier League. The successful candidate will be responsible for the physical preparation, conditioning, and performance optimisation of all first-team players, working closely with the Head Coach, coaching staff, medical team, and performance personnel.

This role requires strong expertise in sports science, strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and player performance management within a professional football environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee individual and team-based fitness programmes to improve endurance, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, and overall athletic performance
  • Integrate fitness training into the team's weekly schedule in alignment with technical and tactical objectives
  • Conduct regular fitness assessments, testing, and performance monitoring to evaluate player condition and readiness
  • Analyse fitness and performance data to optimise training outcomes and minimise fatigue and injury risks
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programmes, including strength and conditioning routines, recovery protocols, and load management strategies
  • Support the rehabilitation process of injured players through appropriate return-to-play conditioning programmes in collaboration with medical staff
  • Plan and conduct pre-match warm-up sessions to ensure players are physically prepared for competition
  • Oversee post-match recovery sessions, including regeneration, stretching, recovery strategies, and player monitoring
  • Provide guidance on nutrition, hydration, recovery, and lifestyle habits that support optimal athletic performance
  • Educate players on maintaining professional standards in fitness, recovery, and physical preparation
  • Work closely with the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Team Manager, and medical staff to align fitness objectives with team performance goals
  • Monitor player workloads and contribute to discussions regarding player readiness and match preparation
  • Utilise performance tracking systems, GPS technology, and other monitoring tools to evaluate training loads and match performance
  • Prepare periodic fitness, workload, and player development reports for submission to management through the Team Manager
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in sports science, conditioning methodologies, and injury prevention practices
  • Contribute to club programmes, community activities, and official club events when required
  • Maintain high professional standards on and off the field at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum AFC Fitness Coaching Certificate Level 2 (or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • Additional qualifications in Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, or related disciplines will be an advantage
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a Fitness Coach, Strength & Conditioning Coach, or Performance Coach within a professional or elite football environment
  • Strong understanding of football-specific conditioning, athletic development, and performance optimisation
  • Experience in injury prevention, rehabilitation support, and return-to-play protocols
  • Proficiency in using GPS tracking systems, fitness monitoring tools, and performance analysis software
  • Strong knowledge of sports science principles, workload management, and recovery strategies
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary high-performance team
  • Strong commitment to professionalism, discipline, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet the demands of a professional football environment
  • Willingness to represent the club professionally on and off the field
