Operations Manager

Role Overview
The Operations Manager will own the day-to-day operations of our Singapore facility, overseeing receiving, warehousing, processing, quality assurance, and outbound logistics of specialty aerospace materials. This role requires deep familiarity with aerospace quality standards (AS9100/AS9120), specialty metals handling, and the discipline to maintain strict compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Warehouse Management
• Direct daily operations including receiving, inspection, storage, processing, and outbound shipment of specialty alloys and metals.
• Develop and execute production and delivery schedules to meet customer OTD requirements.
• Maintain and continuously improve warehouse layout, workflows, and processing efficiency.
• Oversee inventory accuracy through systematic cycle counts, spot checks, and annual stock takes;
Quality & Compliance
• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the quality management system in line with AS9100/AS9120 and ISO9001 standards.
• Manage incoming inspection of mill certificates, material test reports (MTRs), and physical goods against customer and aerospace specifications (AMS, ASTM, MIL, BMS, etc.).
• Lead internal audits, customer quality audits, and third-party certification audits.
• Resolve non-conformances, initiate corrective and preventive actions (CA/PA), and drive root cause analysis.
Customer & Supplier Management
• Ensure on-time delivery performance to aerospace customers (target: 100% OTD for LTC customers).
• Act as the operational point of contact for key aerospace accounts; manage quality disputes and delivery escalations.
• Conduct supplier assessments and performance tracking; follow up on supplier quality issues.
Cost, Budget & Continuous Improvement
• Formulate and manage the operations budget; identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
• Apply LEAN, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies to drive measurable process improvements.
• Oversee preventive maintenance of processing and warehousing equipment.
Safety, EHS & Team Leadership
• Ensure full compliance with Singapore MOM regulations and company EHS policies; maintain a zero-injury culture.
• Lead, develop, and performance-manage a growing operations team.
• Conduct onboarding, safety, and skills training (including forklift, EHS, 5S).
Regulatory & Cross-Functional Coordination
• Manage Singapore customs compliance, import/export documentation, and any strategic goods (SGCA) obligations relevant to specialty metals.
• Collaborate closely with sales, procurement, finance, and logistics to ensure seamless order fulfilment.
Requirements
Essential
• Minimum 10 years of operations or quality management experience in specialty metals distribution, aerospace manufacturing, or related industry.
• Hands-on experience with aerospace quality standards: AS9100 / AS9120 (internal auditor qualification strongly preferred).
• Proven track record managing OTD performance and inventory accuracy in a high-compliance environment.
• Experience managing aerospace material specifications (AMS, ASTM, MIL, BMS, etc.) and mill certificate review.
• Strong leadership skills — experience managing warehouse/operations teams of 5 or more.
Preferred
• Experience with LTC (Long-Term Contract) aerospace customer programmes (e.g., Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney, GE Aviation, RTX).
• Aerospace distributor qualifications such as P&WC MCS/LCS, Honeywell Gold Supplier, or equivalent.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher; LEAN manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with specialty alloys such as Inconel, titanium, or other nickel/cobalt superalloys.
