Assistant Director of Sales - Travel Distribution (Hotel/Resort)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As the Assistant Director of Sales (Travel Distribution) for the Resort, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic management of travel distribution channels and partnerships. You will lead efforts to strengthen the Resort's market presence by developing and executing sales strategies across travel agencies, tour operators, wholesalers, consortia, destination management companies (DMCs), and online travel platforms. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will maximize business opportunities and enhance the Resort's visibility within key travel segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to maximize revenue through travel distribution channels and key travel trade partners.

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the travel trade segment, including travel agencies, tour operators, wholesalers, DMCs, and consortia.

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key travel partners to drive room nights, revenue, and market share.

  • Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, networking activities, and business development initiatives to generate new accounts and grow existing partnerships.

  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, and Reservations teams to align sales strategies with pricing, inventory management, and promotional activities.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and production reports to identify opportunities and develop action plans to achieve sales targets.

  • Negotiate contracts, partnership agreements, and promotional opportunities with travel trade partners.

  • Represent the Resort at industry events, trade shows, roadshows, and sales missions to increase brand awareness and generate business leads.

  • Develop and execute joint marketing campaigns and tactical promotions with travel partners to increase bookings and market penetration.

  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and business reviews to evaluate performance and recommend growth strategies.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of sales experience within the hospitality industry, preferably in luxury hotels or resorts, with a strong focus on travel distribution and business development.

  • Proven track record in developing strategic partnerships and driving revenue through travel trade channels.

  • Strong understanding of travel distribution networks, wholesale markets, luxury travel segments, and revenue management principles.

  • Established network within the travel trade industry will be an advantage.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.

  • Results-driven with strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and sales performance metrics.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional stakeholder service.
