Why This Role Matters
We are looking for a Patient Service Associate (PSA) to play a vital role at the heart of the patient experience within our Elective Care Enterprise team, which covers areas across the Specialist Outpatient Clinic, Operating Theatre and Endoscopy facilities.
This is more than a frontline service role. As an PSA, you are a key ambassador of Woodlands Hospital—working closely with clinicians, nurses, allied health and operations teams to ensure smooth clinic operations while delivering thoughtful, efficient and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver an Exceptional Patient Experience
- Serve as a first point of contact for patients, providing registration, appointment scheduling, financial counselling and payment verification services.
- Proactively guide patients in using self‑service kiosks and mobile applications for registration, payments, way‑finding and Medisave or billing enquiries.
- Manage incoming phone calls, emails, billing enquiries and patient feedback with professionalism and empathy.
Support Facility Operations
- Perform basic clinical support tasks such as visual acuity tests and vital parameters taking, where required.
- Assist clinicians during consultations, including chaperoning, administrative support and preparation of instruments or procedure sets.
- Work closely with the PSA Floor Supervisor and care teams to ensure smooth daily clinic flow and operational efficiency.
- Schedule case requests, amendments and cancellation for surgeries into OT/Endoscopy slots according to request instructions, allocation schedule and resources availabilities
- Contribute actively to initiatives that support hospital and facility performance targets and key results areas.

What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ Levels with Professional Certificate / NITEC or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is an advantage, but not mandatory.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong service orientation with a commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic clinical environment
- Digitally savvy and able to use mobile apps, web services and operational systems
- Familiarity with healthcare systems (e.g. Next Generation Electronic Medical Records system, National Billing System, Queue Systems) is advantageous
