Marine Electrician

Overview

Royal Ocean Marine is seeking a skilled Marine Electrician for our client a shipping company to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems onboard our client's marine vessels. The Marine Electrician will ensure that all maritime electrical installations comply with safety and regulatory standards while supporting the operational efficiency of the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on marine vessels.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Inspect and test electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures for safety and functionality.
• Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance.
• Maintain accurate and detailed logs of work performed and parts used.
• Participate in safety meetings and trainings.
• Assist in commissioning and decommissioning of vessels as required.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related maritime electrical qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Marine Electrician or in a similar maritime electrical role.
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, AC/DC circuitry, and maritime safety standards.
• Proficient in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with relevant maritime regulations and classification society requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in offshore and shipboard environments.
• Good communication skills and attention to safety protocols.
