Key Responsibilities
- Vessel & Yard Management: Oversee vessel loading and discharging, container placement, and storage to ensure ships experience quick and efficient turnarounds.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, security protocols, and customs/quarantine requirements.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and train port supervisors, planners, and cargo operators.
- System Utilization: Use port management systems and Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), such as NAVIS, to optimize logistical workflows.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with shipping lines, stevedores, trucking companies, and port authorities. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, or Business Administration.
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in port or terminal operations, including team leadership and crisis management.
- Tech Skills: Proficiency in Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and enterprise logistics software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent decision-making under pressure, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication abilities. [1, 2]
