Key Responsibilities
Production & Preparation
- Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and related products according to recipes and SOPs.
- Ensure all products meet company quality and presentation standards.
- Decorate cakes and pastries according to design requirements.
- Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of all products.
- Develop and test new pastry and dessert items when required.
Quality Control
- Monitor ingredient quality and freshness.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients and finished products.
- Conduct daily quality checks on all products before sale or distribution.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, tools, and workstations.
- Follow FIFO (First In First Out) inventory practices.
- Ensure compliance with company and local food regulations.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and packaging materials.
- Assist in stock ordering and inventory control.
- Minimize wastage and report shortages promptly.
Teamwork & Operations
- Work closely with kitchen and operations teams to meet production schedules.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff when required.
- Support daily kitchen operations and other duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Certificate, Diploma, or relevant qualification in Pastry & Bakery preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of pastry or bakery experience.
- Experience in commercial bakery, café, restaurant, or central kitchen is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of baking techniques and dessert preparation.
- Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
- Creativity in pastry decoration and presentation.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Able to lift ingredients and supplies when necessary.
- Willing to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts as scheduled.
