Job Summary
A Pan-Asian Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations in an Pan Asian-inspired restaurant or food establishment, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes from various Pan Asian cuisines. This role typically involves assisting Head chef in menu development, ensuring food quality and consistency, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The Sous Chef works closely with the Head Chef, supporting daily kitchen operations, overseeing food prep, handling inventory, and assisting in training and developing junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist Head Chef with menu development and recipe creation.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portioning.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist in ordering and managing kitchen supplies.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely food delivery.
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven experience in a Sous Chef or similar role within an Pan Asian kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of Asian cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
