Creative Lead
Grain
Mission
Build and shape how Grain shows up in the world - through sharp creative direction, strong design, and experiences that feel on-brand and worth remembering.
At Grain, we believe in connecting people through meaningful food experiences. We're looking for a Creative Lead who can turn strategy into creative work, raise the quality of everything we put out, and help a growing team produce work that feels distinctly Grain.
What success looks like
A year from now:
Grain has a stronger and more consistent creative point of view across campaigns, content, packaging, digital experiences, and events.
Our photography, design, copy, and creative executions feel cohesive regardless of channel.
The creative team is producing better work, faster — with clear standards and direction.
Major occasions like Christmas, Chinese New Year, Weddings by Grain feel thoughtful, distinctive, and worth remembering.
Our smoked meats brand Ember has an established brand presence.
Grain's creative standards are clearly defined, consistently upheld, and reflected across every customer touchpoint.
What you'll do
Lead creative direction across the business: Shape how Grain, Ember, and Weddings by Grain look, feel, and sound across campaigns, content, packaging, digital experiences, events, and customer touchpoints.
Develop campaigns and creative concepts: Turn business goals, product launches, and seasonal occasions into compelling creative ideas, narratives, and visual worlds that people remember.
Raise the creative bar: Review and refine work across design, photography, copy, content, and digital experiences, providing clear direction that improves the quality and consistency of our output.
Lead and develop the creative team: Mentor and manage designers, content creators, and creative producers, helping them grow in capability, confidence, and craft.
Direct creative productions: Oversee photoshoots, content production, styling, and creative execution to ensure the final output reflects Grain's standards and vision.
Build creative systems and standards: Establish frameworks, guidelines, and ways of working that help the team create consistently strong and on-brand work.
Shape the future of the brand: Contribute to the evolution of Grain's visual identity, creative expression, and brand experience as the business grows.
We're looking for someone who
Has 6–10+ years of experience in creative, brand, design, or art direction roles.
Has worked in an agency, brand, or studio environment where they were responsible for developing creative concepts and overseeing execution.
Has a strong point of view on design, photography, copy, and storytelling — and can clearly articulate why something works (or doesn't).
Enjoys building teams and helping others do their best work.
Is confident directing photoshoots, reviewing layouts, refining copy, and shaping creative concepts.
Has experience building brands or brand systems across multiple touchpoints, not just campaigns.
Can mentor junior creatives and help them produce stronger work independently.
Is comfortable being hands-on when needed, especially in a growing team.
Has strong creative instincts and a good sense for what feels thoughtful, on-brand, and worth remembering.
Has a portfolio that demonstrates both strong taste and practical execution.
Bonus points if you
Have experience in hospitality, food, lifestyle, retail, or consumer brands.
Have worked in an agency environment and understand how to develop creative campaigns.
Have experience overseeing packaging, environmental design, or customer experiences.
Have helped evolve or refresh a brand over time.
